Quick search and shortcuts

With many clients, clicking through lists gets slow. Quick search lets you jump to any client's report, site audit or settings, or to any page of the app, in a couple of keystrokes. List pages also have their own search, filters and sorting.

Open quick search

Press Ctrl + K on Windows, or ⌘ + K on a Mac, from any page of the app. You can also click Search at the top of the sidebar. Press the same keys again, or Esc, to close it.

Find a client

  1. Start typing. Type part of the client's name or website, for example "clear" for Clearwater Counseling.
  2. Pick where to go. Each client shows up to three times: Report (their live report), Audit (their site audit) and Settings (Edit client).
  3. Open it. Use ↑ and ↓ to move, and Enter to open. Or just click a result.

Tip

Add a word to narrow it down. "clear audit" goes straight to Clearwater's site audit, and "clear edit" to their settings.

Go to an app page

Open quick search without typing anything to see the app pages: Clients, Add client, Site audits, Templates and themes, Google access, Team and Your account. Owners also see Branding.

Pages match related words too. For example, "password" or "alerts" finds Your account, "invite" finds Team, and "reporting email" finds Google access.

The "/" shortcut

Press / to jump into the search box of the page you're on, such as the client search on the dashboard. On pages without a search box, / opens quick search instead. The shortcut doesn't fire while you're typing in a field.

Search, filter and sort lists

The Clients dashboard and the Site audits page always have a search box, filter chips and a sort menu above the list. The Team, Shared reports and Templates pages add a search box once their lists get long.

  • Search matches the client name and website as you type. Press Esc in the box to clear it.
  • Chips show how many items match. A chip only appears when at least one item matches it.
  • Sort reorders the list.

If nothing matches, click Clear search and filters to see everything again.

On the Clients dashboard

  • Chips: All, Needs attention, No data connected, Positive only.
  • Sort: Name, Health (lowest first), Recently shared, Most client views.

On the Site audits page

  • Chips: All, Needs attention, Never audited, Running, Monthly.
  • Sort: Health (lowest first), Most errors, Recently audited, Name.

Your chip and sort choices are remembered on each page, in your browser, so the list looks the same next time you come back.
