ReportFalconBot
The crawler behind ReportFalcon site audits
If you see ReportFalconBot in your server logs, someone ran a technical SEO audit of your website:
a marketing agency that uses ReportFalcon (usually because they look after your site), or a visitor using our
free SEO audit. The audit checks things like
broken pages and links, missing page titles and slow pages, so they can be fixed.
How it behaves
- It identifies itself as
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; ReportFalconBot/1.0; +https://reportfalcon.com/bot). - It follows your
robots.txtrules and only visits pages on the audited website. - It spaces out its requests and stops after a set number of pages (usually 500 or fewer; 50 for free audits).
- An audit runs when an agency asks for one or schedules it monthly, or when someone runs a free audit (at most once an hour per website).
- It doesn't fill in forms, log in, or buy anything.
Blocking it
To keep ReportFalconBot out of all or part of your site, add a rule to your robots.txt:
User-agent: ReportFalconBot Disallow: /
