Team and account

Your account and two-step sign-in

The Your account page holds your personal settings: your name, sign-in email, password, two-step sign-in, alert emails and Google sign-in. To open it, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.

Change your name or email

  1. Edit your profile. Under Profile, change your Name or your Email (the address you sign in with).
  2. Enter your current password. It's only needed when you change your email.
  3. Click Save profile. If you changed your email, we send a confirmation link to the new address. Click it to confirm the change.

Change your password

  1. Fill in the Password section. Enter your Current password, then your New password (at least 10 characters) and Repeat new password.
  2. Click Change password. You stay signed in here, and you're signed out on every other device.

If you signed up with Google and never set a password, this section is called Set a password. Setting one lets you also sign in with your email and password.

Sign in with Google

To sign in with one click, click Connect Google in the Sign in with Google section and choose your Google account. The section then shows Connected.

To stop using Google, click Disconnect Google. You need a password on your account first, so you can still sign in afterwards.

Switch on two-step sign-in

Two-step sign-in asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone after your password (or Google). Even if someone learns your password, they can't get in without your phone. It's recommended for everyone who can see client data.

  1. Start the setup. In the Two-step sign-in section, click Switch on.
  2. Scan the QR code. Open an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy) and scan the code. Can't scan it? Click Copy key and enter the key in the app instead.
  3. Enter a code. Type the 6-digit code the app shows now and click Switch on.
  4. Save your backup codes. You get 10 backup codes. Click Copy codes, keep them somewhere safe like a password manager, then click I've saved them.

Good to know

You only see the backup codes once. Each one works a single time, for when you don't have your phone.

Signing in with two-step sign-in

After your password or Google, you'll see Enter your code. Type the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify and sign in. You have 10 minutes to enter it.

No phone with you? Enter one of your backup codes instead (they look like a1b2-c3d4). After you use one, ReportFalcon tells you how many are left.

Tip

If a code is refused, check that your phone's time is set automatically. Codes depend on the clock.

New backup codes or switching it off

When two-step sign-in is on, the section shows On and the date you switched it on. Enter your Current password, then:

  • Click New backup codes to get 10 fresh codes. Your old ones stop working.
  • Click Switch off to turn two-step sign-in off.

If you sign in with Google only and have no password, enter a code from your authenticator app instead.

Alert emails

The Alert emails section has one switch: Email me about client problems. It's on by default and saves as soon as you click it. Read Traffic alerts for what triggers an alert.
