Sharing and PDFs

Share a report with your client

Sharing a report saves an exact copy of it under its own permanent link. Your client opens the link in any browser, with no login, and sees the report with your agency's branding. Each shared report keeps its numbers forever, so last month's link still shows last month's results a year from now.

Share a report

  1. Open the client's report. Go to Clients and open the report you want to send.
  2. Pick the dates. Choose the Period and Compare to settings in the toolbar, for example Last month compared with Previous period. See Change dates and comparisons for every option.
  3. Check what the client will see. Sections switched to Hidden are left out of the shared report, along with their chart data. If you want to rewrite the summary first, see Edit the executive summary.
  4. Click Share report. The Share this report dialog opens with a suggested Report name, such as "September 2026 SEO Report" for a full month. Change the name if you like.

The dialog shows the period and comparison that will be frozen into the link.

Create and send the link

  1. Click Create link. After a moment you see Link created and the new address.
  2. Send it to your client. Click Copy link and paste it into your email or chat, or click Open to check it first.

If you edited the summary, the line under the report name says the link will include your edited summary.

What gets frozen into the link

A shared report is a snapshot. Everything is saved at the moment you click Create link:

  • The numbers, tables and charts for the chosen dates and comparison.
  • Your notes and work completed for those dates.
  • Chart notes you marked to show the client. Notes for your team only stay out.
  • The executive summary, including any text you edited on the page just before sharing.
  • The report theme, so the link keeps its look even if you change the client's theme later.
  • The Site health summary from the latest site audit, if the client has one.

Later changes to the client, new Google data or new notes never change a link you already sent. To send updated numbers, share a new report: it gets a new link.

Good to know

You can only share a report that has something in it. If no Search Console, GA4 or site audit data could be loaded, the dialog shows a message instead of a link.

What your client sees

The client sees your agency's logo and name, the report name, the dates and the day it was shared. There is no sidebar and nothing to sign in to. A Download PDF button lets them save their own copy.

The page works on phones too. The cover, summary and sections stack into one column, so clients can read it on the go.

Find and manage shared reports

The Shared button in the report toolbar shows how many reports you've shared with this client. Click it to open the Shared reports page.

The Shared reports page listing each report with its period, shared date, client views, a Copy link button and open and delete icons
  • Report, Period and Shared show what each link contains and when you created it.
  • Client views counts how often the link was opened, with the date of the last view. Visits by people signed in to your agency are not counted, so you can check a report without changing the number.
  • Copy link copies the address again, and the open icon shows the report in a new tab.
  • Share a new report takes you back to the report to create another one.

Delete a shared report

Click the bin icon next to a report and confirm. Its link stops working for everyone straight away, and this can't be undone. Other shared reports for the client keep working.
