Once a client has a finished site audit, their report gets a Site health section. It turns the technical audit into a short summary clients can follow: one score, what changed and what's next, in plain words instead of SEO jargon.
Add Site health to a report
- Run a site audit for the client. Click Site audit in the report toolbar and run it. See Run a site audit.
- Open the report again. When the audit is done, the Site health section appears in the report by itself.
The section always shows the client's latest finished audit, whatever dates the report covers. The heading tells you how many pages were checked and on which day.
What the section shows
- The health score out of 100, in a coloured ring, with a headline such as "Excellent site health" or "Site health needs some work".
- The change since the previous audit, for example "▲ 2 since the previous audit (96)", plus how many issues were fixed in between.
- Fixed since the last audit: up to four kinds of issue that were fixed, with how many of each. This is a great way to show clients the work behind the scenes.
- Next technical improvements: up to five of the most important errors and warnings still open, with the number of pages affected. Smaller notices are left out.
Issues use client-friendly names. "Broken internal links" becomes "Links to missing pages", and "Missing meta descriptions" becomes "Pages without a search description". The full technical list stays on your team's audit page, linked under the section as Site audit.
Hide or move the section
Like every report section, Site health has a switch next to its heading.
- Click the switch so it reads Hidden. The section is left out of new shared reports, the live client link and PDFs.
- Use the arrows next to the switch to move the section up or down the report.
Your own view still shows a hidden section as a collapsed heading, so you can switch it back on. More in Show, hide and reorder sections.
With the positive-only report
If the client's report is set to positive-only, Site health keeps the good news and leaves out the rest:
- The Next technical improvements list is hidden.
- A score that went up or stayed steady is still shown with its change. If the score went down, the previous score isn't mentioned.
- Scores under 75 get the neutral headline "Site health score".
- Fixed since the last audit and the number of issues fixed stay.
Keep it fresh with monthly audits
Switch on Audit every month under Edit client, in the Site audit card. The site is re-crawled automatically when its last audit is 30 days old, so each monthly report has recent numbers and a fresh "fixed since the last audit" list. Your team also gets an alert when new errors appear.
Shared reports freeze the Site health section as it was when you shared them. Later audits only show in new shared reports, the live link and new PDFs. A finished audit is also enough to share a report, even for a client without Search Console or GA4 data.
